SABUT MASOOR DAL

Ingredients
1 cup sabut masoor 
1/2 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic grated
1/2 teaspoon ginger grated
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
1 bay leave
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Salt
Coriander 
Onion rings
Recipe
Wash and cook dal with three cups of water, salt and ginger in a pressure cooker till three whistles. 
Heat oil in a kadai, add cumin seeds and bay leave.
When the cumin seeds begin to change color add onion, garlic and when it changes color to golden add tomatoes and stir-fry till oil separates.
Add coriander powder, turmeric, cumin powder and red chilli powder and sauté for a minute. 

Add cooked dal and garam masala to the mixture and bring to a boil.
Simmer for about ten minutes.
Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander and onion rings.
Serve hot with roti & rice.
